Leroy Albert 'Roy' 'L.A.' Bash

His birthday was 29 January 1924, according to his family. He finally got his birth certificate from the doctor who had delivered him. He paid for his own delivery to get the certificate. It had never been registered. The certificate had the 30th January instead of the 29th. When he got back to camp his records were changed to the 30th, even though the certificate was off a day.

He was a World War II Veteran U.S. Marine Corps.

Uncle Pappy, Roy Bash, died Friday, 29 January 2016 in auto wreck, car went off highway 6 into a tree, about 3 miles from his home in Missouri City, TX. Witnesses got him out of car, and it burned up completely.

Due to pending autopsy, body could not be donated to Baylor University as planned. Body will be cremated and ashes given to family. Cemetery is still being considered.

Survived by wife, Linda Kathleen Wheeless Hutchinson Bash, married 05 June 1993; daughter Marilyn Louise Bash, and youngest brother, Clayton Eugene Bash.

Predeceased by wife, Betty Deane Qualls Bash, married 29 March 1946 at Olathe, KS; parents, six sisters and 2 younger brothers.
