John E. Hickey, Sr., 65, of 9 Circle Ave., died Saturday morning at St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Clair E. Tammany Hickey, with whom he noted their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 1. He was employed as a thrush radius grinder with Federal Mogul Corp., Lititz. Hickey worked there for 34 years, retiring in 1988. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Grover C. and Clara Sherr Hickey. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons: John E. Jr., Willow Street; Christopher A., Lancaster; and Michael A., Willow Street; and three daughters: Clair C. "Sue,: wife of William S. McMichael, and Roseanne, wife of David B. Keller, both of Lancaster, and Dinah M. Wise, at home. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; three brothers: Grover C., George Bechtold, and Guy Bechtold, all of Lancaster; and two sisters, Ruth Mott and Clara, wife of Richard Heiselman, both of Lancaster.
