Benjamin Franklin Royer is the oldest child of John Vincent and Mary Susan Bontz. He is not buried at this cemetery -- at his time of death he was in the Western State Hospital in Staunton, Virginia where he fell to the floor by his bed in the hospital ward and died the next day.

He married Mary Mae Blue on September 5, 1907. From this marriage came four children Edna, John, Muza and Ruth. This marriage ended in a divorce on August 10, 1927.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Royer, R. R. 5,have received word of the death of Mr. Royer's uncle Benjamin Franklin at the Virginia State Hospital, Staunton, Virginia.

A long-life resident of the Lafayette community he had resided with his nephew here six months prior to entering the Virginia hospital last March. Born in Virginia he came here as a boy and farmed in the Wea neighborhood and worked for Lafayette building contractors until 1939 when he returned to Virginia, coming back again for a few months that he later spent with his nephew.

Surviving is a son and three daughters, a brother John C. Royer, Stockwell and two sisters Mrs. Ode Lambert and Mrs. Bertha Gates of Lafayette.
