Mrs. Roycroft passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2006 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
Born to the late David L. and Laura Mae Bunch Dark on May 30, 1923 in Walnut Grove Community, Agnes lived all her life in the Tyler area. A member of Central Baptist Church for more than fifty years, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School for thirty-five years with the Sunbeam Department. She loved Gospel music, flowers, and gardening. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and "Mamaw".
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, J C Roycroft in 2005, granddaughter, Renee Seale, seven sisters, and three brothers, Perry Dark.
Agnes is survived by her loving family including her sons, Billy Roycroft and wife Linda of Longview, Fred Roycroft and wife Pat of Houston, and Ron Roycroft and wife Marilyn of Tyler; daughter, Peggy Lusk of Whitehouse; eleven grandchildren, Brent Roycroft, Kevin Roycroft, D. C. Roycroft, Scott Roycroft, Tim Malta, Trisha Jones, Ryan Roycroft, Michelle Simington, Jennifer Mooney, Lesa Hale, and Jamie Carnes; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Clara West of Whitehouse; and sister-in-law, Lois Dark of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Roycroft, Wesley Roycroft, D. C. Roycroft, Dustin Simington, Jason Carnes, and Ray Hale.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Dowdy, Thomas West and Scott Roycroft.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., south Tyler 75703.
