Frieda Ostermann was born in Sheffield, Massachussets to Fred and Bertha Feldt on March 15, 1914. She moved to Evergreen Township, Minnesota with her parents and there received her education.

On April 8, 1931 Frieda was united in marriage with Clarence Ostermann in Evergreen Township, Minnesota. They farmed in Evergreen until 1966 when they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Frieda had been a resident at the Frazee Retirement Center since December 1982. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Frieda died on Thursday, August 21, 1986 at the Frazee Retirement Center, Frazee, Minnesota. Preceding her in death are her parents, one brother, her husband, Clarence, who died August 31, 1983, her son, Albert, who died November 14, 1984, and two daughters and one who died at birth.

Survivors are: three sons, Melvin of Springfield, OR; John of Frazee, MN; Alvin of Detroit Lakes, MN; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five brothers: Fred Feldt, Jr. of Wolf Lake, MN, Henry Feldt of International Falls, MN; Eddie Feldt of Bovey, MN; Harold Feldt of Libby, Montana; Marvin Feldt of Frazee, MN; and six sisters; Mrs. Fred (Olga) Neske of Frazee, MN; Mrs. Gust (Millie) Anderson of International Falls, MN; Mrs. Clarence (Emma)Wick of Bovey, MN; Mrs. Wilburt (Elsie) Illg of Burbank, WA; Mrs. John (Sally) Illg of Frazee, MN; and Mrs. Alfred (Evelyn) Poser of Bovey, MN.

Service was held on Saturday, August 23, 1986 at 11:00 am Rev. M. J. Buchhop. The sermon test was Revelation 1:17. "And when I saw Him, I fell at his feet as dead and He laid His right hand upon me saying to me: 'Fear not, I am the First and the Last, I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore.' Amen." The organist was Mrs. Kathy Carlson. Special music was a duet by Rita Feldt and Roxanne Abraham singing "Asleep in Jesus" and "Old Rugged Cross." the pallbearers were Edward Schwarzrock, John Illg, Lloyd Anderson, George Weidemann, Walter Johnson, and Leroy Bergen.
