Clarence E. Ostermann was born at Brownton on May 23, 1908, grew up and attended school there and moved to Evergreen Township of Becker County with his parents at the age of nine. He was married to Frieda Feldt in Evergreen Township on April 8, 1931, and farmed in Evergreen Township until 1966 when they moved into Detroit Lakes. Mr. Ostermann was employed by Bergen Floral on West Willow Street in Detroit Lakes and also was self-employed as a carpenter and painter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife - Frieda, a resident of the Frazee Retirement Center; four sons - Melvin, Grand Rapids; John, Frazee; Albert, Babbitt; and Alvin, Detroit Lakes; a brother Iver Ostermann, Frazee; and a sister - Mrs. Art (Hilda) Quade, Frazee. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Preceding Mr. Ostermann in death were his parents, two daughters, a son and a brother.
