Clyde W. Adrian
Bruce - Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Mirr Funeral Home for Clyde W. Adrian, 72, who died Friday at his home.
Mr. Adrian was born Dec. 22, 902 (sic), in Chippewa Falls and married Helen Kinkle Oct. 11, 1920, in Cornell. He worked in construction and farming and moved to Bruce about eight years ago.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Helen DeFuientes, Rocklin, Calif.; Mrs. Ray Eaton, Wisconsin Rapids; three sons, Robert, Racine; Richard, Pittsville; Daniel, Bruce; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Kieson, Holcombe; 24 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The Reverend Carl Boher officiated and burial was in Bruce.

There is a discrepancy in Clyde Adrian's year of birth.
His birth certificate (delayed, created December 18, 1939) says he was born Dec. 22, 1900.
Michael Adrian (his father) said in a statement in his Civil War pension dated March 19, 1915, that he was born Dec. 22, 1900.
Delta Cunningham (his niece) told me he was born Dec. 22, 1900.
His tombstone says he was born 1900.
However, he is listed on the 1900 Census (created June 6, 1900) as a five month old baby born December 1899. That has to be correct. How could he have been listed on the 1900 census if he wasn't already born?
However, I can think of one other possibility. What if the Clyde Adrian born Dec. 1899, died and they had another son born Dec. 1900 and they named him Clyde also? That could explain the consistency in the subsequent records. In my experience no other dates used by the Adrian family are consistent.
I am using the year 1900 because that is what is on the tombstone and other official records. But it is possible that his correct year of birth is 1899.
