Michael Adrian was born Nov. 16, 1841 in Niederehe, Germany. He was the son of Michael L. Adrian and Mary Elizabeth Willham.

During the Civil War he enlisted with the 27th Iowa Volunteer Infantry:

Residence Guttenberg IA; 19 years old.
Enlisted on 8/14/1862 as a Private.
On 9/13/1862 he mustered into "D" Co. IA 27th Infantry

He married first Catherine Trasko on Sept. 23, 1865 in Guttenburg, Clayton County, Iowa. They had children: Gerhart, William, Georgeanna and Mary.

He married second: Elizabeth Meyers on Jan. 11, 1888 in Eau Clair, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin. They had children: Anna, Mattie, Mamie Mary, Florence Emma, Francis, Dorothy, Verna Elizabeth, Marion, Clyde William and Nora Lucy.

DECLARATION FOR PENSION

On this 24 day of April A. D., one thousand nine hundred and twelve personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the county and State aforesaid, Michael Adrian, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 70 years of age and a resident of Town of Cleveland, County of Chippewa, State of Wisconsin; and that he is the identical person who was enrolled at Guttenburg, Iowa, under the name of Michael Adrian, on the 14 day of August 1862, as Private, in Company D., Twenty seventh Regiment, Iowa Volunteer Infantry in the service of the United States, in the Civil war, and was honorably discharged at Clinton, Iowa, on the 8 day of August 1865.

That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than as stated above. That his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Height: 5 feet 3 inches; complexion, dark; color of eyes, blue; color of hair, dark; that his occupation was Farmer; that he was born November 16, 1841 at _______________.

That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as follows: Has lived in Chippewa Co, Wis. continually since the War.

That he is now a pensioner. He is a pensioner at present (542590)

That he make this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the Act of February 6, 1907.

That his post-office address is Holcomb, County of Chippewa, State of Wisconsin

His Widow (Elizabeth M Adrian) applied for a pension on 2/19/1923 from the state of WI
application # 1,201,184
