Elnora (Eleanor Sherry) Biter 95, a resident of St. Benedict
Manor, formerly of R.D. Loretto, died January 1, 2015 at the
Manor. Born November 2, 1919 in R.D. Gallitzin, daughter
of the late Pius and Annie (Beiswenger) Sherry. Preceded in
death by husband Lawrence on March 20, 1982,
daughter, Elizabeth George, son, David, grandsons: Thomas
Farabaugh , Steve Bauman, and Timothy Bruce, sons in law:
Thomas H. Farabaugh Sr., Patrick J. Bruce and Edward C.
Koller, and these brothers and sisters: Helen Weakland, Leo,
Zita Boley, Thomas, Infant Stella, Joseph, Cora Packard,
Oscar, Rita Adams, and Alma Miller who passed on
December 28, 2014

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Elnora
worked as a seamstress for 20 years in Cresson, Lilly and
Gallitzin sewing factories, she also worked in food service at
the Ebensburg Center for 8 years. She enjoyed spending time
with her grandchildren, shopping and traveling. Member of
the Cresson Senior Citizens, Loretto Volunteer Fire Company
Auxiliary, Legion of Mary, Altar Rosary Society and Basilica
of St. Michael, Loretto, where Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 11:00 AM Tuesday, Rev. Msgr. Timothy Swope, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. Friends will
be received from 3 to 7 PM Monday at the Gibbons Funeral
Home, Ashville, where a Vigil Service will be held Monday.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the American
Cancer Society in Elnora’s memory.
