Helen M. Weakland, 79, Hamburg, NY, formerly of Ashville, died May 30, 1987, in Pike Township, Clearfield County, as a result of a car accident.
She was born Sept. 19, 1907, in Cresson, a daughter of Pius and Annie (Beiswenger) Sherry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leo and Joseph; and sisters, Zeta Bolley and Stella.
Surviving are her husband, Modestus, and these children: Patrick, Roy, Verna Petrie, Dorothy Teribury, all of Hamburg; Elizabeth Brennan, Pottsville; Earl, Ashville; Edna Miller, Patton; Harvey, Albuquerque, NM; Stella Kline, West Seneca, NY; and Robert, Lawtons, NY; also 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Thomas and Modestus, both of Ebensburg; Alma Miller, St. Benedict; Cora Packer and Rita Adams, both of California; and Eleanor Biter and Oscar, both of Loretto.
Mrs. Weakland was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hamburg; Altar-Rosary Society; Catholic Daughters; and Hamburg Senior Citizen Group. Former member of St. Thomas' Catholic Church, Ashville, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated June 3, Rev. Donald Boslet, celebrant. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Loretto.
