LEO R. SHERRY
71, of Box 143, Gallitzin RD 1, died at 1:15 a.m. today, July 26, 1980, in Altoona Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Sherry retired as a coal miner and carpenter. He was born June 21 1909, in Cresson, the son of Pius and Anna (Beiswenger) Sherry, and June 14, 1939, in Chest Springs, married Mary J. Storm. Surviving are his wife, three children, Edwin of Gallitzin RD, Eugene of Ebensburg RD and Allen Joe of Gallitzin; 12 grandchildren and 10 brothers and sisters, Mrs. Helen Weakland of Lackawanna, N.Y.; Joseph of Ashville RD, Mrs. Zita Boley in Maryland, Mrs. Alma Miller of St. Benedict, Mrs. Cora Packard of in California, Mrs. Elnora Biter and Oscar of Loretto RD, Modestus and Thomas of Ebensburg RD and Mrs. Rita Adams of San Diego, Calif. Mr. Sherry was a member of the Carpenters Local Union and St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Donald J. Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville.
SHERRY – The funeral of Leo R. Sherry of Box 143, Gallitzin RD 1, will be held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville, by the Rev. Donald Boslett. Interment in church cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Donald J. Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
