MILLER – Alma G., 99, St. Benedict, passed away Dec. 28, 2014, at St. Benedict Manor. Born Jan. 23, 1915, in Gallitzin R.D., daughter of Pius and Anna (Beiswenger) Sherry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Miller, on June 7, 2001; and brothers and sisters, Helen Weakland, Leo, Zita Boley, Thomas, infant sister Stella, Joseph, Cora Packard, Oscar and Rita Adams. Survived by her children, Bill (Camilla) Miller, St. Benedict; Marge (Bill) Jagenow, North Port, Fla.; Cathy (Ed) Finch, Freeport, Ill.; Sue (Paul) Byrne, Carrolltown; and Sister Jane C.C.W., Tyrone; 16 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Eleanor Biter, Ebensburg; and Modestus “Desty” (June Sheehan) Sherry, Ebensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alma spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown; and a dedicated member of St. Benedict Community Center; the women’s auxiliary for Miner’s Hospital, Spangler; and the women’s auxiliary for Carrolltown Volunteer Fire Company. She enjoyed quilting and playing cards. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 146 N. Main St., Carrolltown, Pa. 15722, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Additional viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, by the Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB.
