April 20, 1943 - March 13, 2019
Jean A. Bruce, 75, Loretto RD, died Wednesday.
She was born in Loretto RD, daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Eleanor C. (Sherry) Biter.
Surviving are four children: Edwin (Karen Snyder), Roxane (Ray) Farabaugh, Russell (Linda Kephart) and Heidi (Brian) Skura; a daughter-in-law, Jenette Bruce; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five siblings: Rita Farabaugh, Donna Koller, Theresa (Francis) Solarczyk, Bonnie Hershel and Richard (Wendy Byrne); a brother-in-law, Richard George; a sister-in-law, Elaine (Heidler) Biter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Joseph Bruce; a son, Timothy; a sister, Elizabeth George; a brother, David; and her fiance, Edward “Pino” McCloskey.
Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts and sewing.
She was a devout Catholic.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Wednesday.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, the Very Rev. John D. Byrnes, celebrant.
Committal will be at St. Michael Cemetery.
