Calvin L. “Tod” Birchard, 86, of Brackney, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Wilson Hospital, Johnson City, NY, after a brief illness. He was born on July 5, 1928, in Dimock Twp., PA, to the late Lewis E. and Ethel Lois (Wood) Birchard. His wife of 61 years, Gloria, survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Elwin “Pete”, and Edwin, seven sisters, Barbara, Joyce, Audrey, Connie, Lois “Squeak”, Elaine “Wee Wee”, and Kim, numerous nieces and nephews. His three brothers, Ronald, Duane and Robert predeceased Calvin.
Tod retired from Universal in Binghamton. He and Gloria enjoyed their retirement. They enjoyed lots of traveling with their camper, usually towards a beach and warm weather. Together they spent 18 years in Florida; Tod enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing shuffle board, and was always busy with projects around the house.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Rev. Jane M. Pykus officiating. Interment will be in the Birchardville Cemetery. Friends may call on the family an hour prior to the service.
