Nellie M. Roofner McCollim, 84, of Kittanning died Sunday (Oct. 1, 2000) in Grey's Colonial Acres, Kittanning. Born May 11, 1916, in Adrian, she lived in Armstrong County all her life. She was a teacher for the Armstrong School District before retiring. Mrs. McCollim was a member of Union Avenue Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, both in Kittanning. Survivors include three sons, Fred McCollim of South Elgin, Ill., Ray McCollim of Mt. Prospect, Ill., and Don McCollim of Coral Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Tony (Doris) Schmela of Kittanning; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, George Roofner of Ford City; and a sister, Frances Wertz of Levittown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul McCollim; a grandson, Byron Painter; her parents, Robert and Emma Quigley Roofner; three brothers, Frank, Raymond and Victor Roofner; and a sister, Iola Wolff. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Union Methodist Church by the Rev. Pat Cleary. Burial will follow in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery, Adrian. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Union Methodist Church or the Salvation Army.
