His death date came from Dade County Probate records.
He had two children, William Joshua and Mary Ellen, with his first wife Mary Carman.
After her death, he married Mary Preston, and in the 1850 census, had five children, G. W. "Matt", Lucinda, Julia "Kate", her twin America, and Henry.
In a list of Dade County Families, two other children were listed, Marcus and Matilda, probably born after 1850. I have not found proof of these children, other than this published list.
After Henry's death, in 1853, his father-in-law obtained legal custody of William J. and Mary Ellen. I have followed their family line to Texas.
His other children were separated throughout Missouri and Iowa. The only ones I have found info on were G. W. "Matt", and Kate who married Byron Bunnell, and lived in Iowa.
His daughter Lucinda was my great grandmother. She married Henry White, and they settled in Colorado, and raised a large family.
