Mrs. Catherine Sarvis Bunnell was born in Dade county, Missouri, July 7, 1845, and passed away at the home of Mrs. Elmer Mehrens March 3, 1932, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 25 days. Funeral services were held at Blust's Funeral Home, Saturday afternoon, March 5 at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Earl E. Remaly officiating.

In 1867 she was united in marriage to Bryon L. Bunnell. To this union were born eleven children. For the first few years after their marriage they lived at New Town just south of Avoca. They then moved to a farm in Shelby county, and for the past ten years she has made her home with her children, until last fall when she came to Avoca.

Left to mourn her departure are six daughters: Mrs. B. M. Hanner, Mason City, Ia., Mrs. H. S. Bradley, of Mitchelville, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Smith, of Craig, Nebr., Mrs. Grace Hays, of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Ethel Nelson, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mrs. Esther Peterson of Stubenville, Ohio; and three sons, J. Arthur Bunnell, of Augusta, Ill.; Fred S. Bunnell, of Guillman City, Mo.; and Edwin C. Bunnell, of Garden Grove, Calif., also several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two children.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. B. M. Hanner of Mason City, Iowa; Mrs. H. S. Bradley, Mitchelville, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Craig, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Piper, of Randolph, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Caldwell, Omaha, Nebr.; and Mrs. Luther Fries, Craig, Nebraska.
