Death of Mrs. Dukes
Sudden Demise of One of the City's Respected Women
Death yesterday entered the home of Willis Martin, on West Maple avenue, and claimed Mr. Martin's loving daughter, Mrs. Nancy A. Dukes, for his own. The dread visitor had not been expected as Mrs. Dukes, who has been living with her aged parents for the last four years, was not taken sick until Sunday morning at which time she was able to perform the usual household duties. Death was due to hemorrhage of the lungs at 1:20 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Mrs. Dukes was bom in Morgan county, Indiana. November 30, 1841, and was at the time of her death aged 59 years, 4 months and 8 days. Her husband died several years ago while the family lived at Cincinnati and since that time Mrs. Dukes has resided with her father in this city. Surviving her are her three daughters, Mrs. Columbus Arbogast of Numa, Mrs. James Banks of Cincinnati and Mrs. Hol Parker of
Livingston.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the First M.E. church, conducted by Rev. A. V. Kendrick and interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
