Rita Jean Massey, 71, of Sand Springs died on January 17, 2006 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born on November 3, 1934 near Berryville, Arkansas to Raymond Theodore and Alice (Smith) Doss. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Ray Massey; her sisters, Evelyn Helen Thompson, Rosielee Inman, and Ruth Louise Green; and her brothers, John Edward Doss and Thomas Dewayne Doss. She is survived by her daughters, Alice Denise Christy of Glencoe, and Deborah O'Neill, Dixie Regina Kern, and Jacqueline Drusella Webster, all of Sand Springs; her son, Darren Robert Massey of Sand Springs; her sister, Mary Alice Shockley of Bristow; her brothers, Carl James Doss and Ronald Theodore Doss, both of Sand Springs, Lonny Richard Doss of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Samuel Michael Doss of Bristow; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at Calvary Heights Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tommy Cole officiating. Burial followed in Woodland Memorial Park under the direction of Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.
