Stephen and Emma were married on November 3, 1858 in St. Timothe, Montreal, Canada. They came to the United States in 1864. He was a blacksmith.

PUTVIN – In this city, Oct. 31, 1928, STEPHEN PUTVIN. He is survived by three daughters and four sons, Mrs. Matilda Martineau, Mrs. James Spencer, Miss Florence Putvin, Alfred, Stephen, Jr., Gilbert and Otis Putvin; also three brothers, Louis of Montreal, Can., George of Chicago, Ill., and Alexander Putvin of North Dakota.

Funeral from his late home, 113 Grace Street, Saturday at 10 A.M., and at St. Joseph's (French) Church at 10:30 A.M. Friends invited. Burial in St. Agnes Cemetery.
