OBITUATY :
MR. HENRY R. WOODRING, 87, of 13864 Harbaugh Church Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday morning, June 26, 2014 in Quincy Village.

Born December 22, 1926 in Washington Township, Franklin County, PA, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Alice M. (Keckler) Woodring.

Mr. Woodring attended schools in Washington Township.

He served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II.

He and his wife, the late Mrs. Mary Ann (Lecron) Woodring, were married December 8, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD. Mrs. Woodring passed away July 15, 2013 Along with his wife, Mr. Woodring operated a dairy farm until 1968. He later was employed at Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA. He retired in 1992 after more than 20 years of service with the company.

He was a member of Wayne Heights Brethren Church and Owl's Club, both of Waynesboro. In his early life, Mr. Woodring enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed golfing, doing yard work and watching wildlife.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah S. Hoover and her husband, Richard of York, PA and Robin S. Flegel and her husband, Terry of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Mindy (Flegel) Rouzer and her husband, Mike of Waynesboro, Stephen Hoover of Westchester, PA and Michael Hoover and his wife, Abby of Dubai, United Arab Emirates; three great-grandchildren, Laken Rouzer, Bodie Rouzer and Kaden Rouzer; one sister, Sara Hade of Shippensburg, PA; one brother, Aaron Woodring of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen L. Woodring who passed away January 30, 2014; a grandson, Tyler L. Woodring, who passed away January 14, 2005; three sisters, Caroline Brackett, Rosella Snyder, and Alvilda Reed; and six brothers, Roy Woodring, George Woodring, Edgar Woodring, Charles Woodring, Arthur Woodring, and Merle Woodring.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 30, 2014 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Julia Brigham officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday evening, in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg PA 17202.
