Leola A. Morris, 101, of Athens, PA passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 peacefully at home.
She was born July 23, 1917 in Athens, PA, the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Hattie (Ridgeway) Callear.
Leola attended the Athens area schools, was a past member of the Athens United Methodist church, she enjoyed going on car rides and watching baseball; she was employed at the Elba Farm Ice Cream Parlor and worked in the cafeteria in the Athens Area School District for 24 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Donald in 1967, son Carrol, brothers and sisters Clinton, Elmer, Robert and Gerald Callear, sisters Lillian Burns, Evelyn Wurtenberg, Alene Fraley, Herethel Johnson, Alta Rolfe and Hattie Callear. Grandchildren Elizabeth Slack of Brockport, NY; Carolyn Kelly of Fairport, NY; Dennis Morris of Fairport, NY; great grandchildren Angela Slack Cascini, Derrick Slack; great great grandson Jordan along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 225 S. Main St., Athens, PA. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00pm with Rev. Helen Learn of the Athens United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Tioga Point Cemetery
Memorial donation may be made in Leola’s name to the Athens United Methodist Church, 118 S. Main St., Athens, PA 18810
