CHARLESTON - Mary Fickling Owens, 88, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 1, 2014.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 in St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 45 Moultrie Street at 2:00 p.m. Interment, Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road.

Mary was born June 29, 1925 in Charleston, SC, daughter of the late Charles Bowman Fickling, Sr. and the late Mary Emerson Fickling.

She was formerly employed by National Linen and a retired employee of Roper Hospital. She was a member of St. Barnabas Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sister, Frances Rosalie Vashon of North Charleston, SC; a special niece, Delores Nettles and many other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Roger Dale Owens. Memorials may be made to St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 45 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
