Dorothy LaDonna Farrington, 72, of Guymon; went home to meet her heavenly father on Monday morning, November 25, 2013 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

The daughter of Edward and Edna (Hocket) Behne, she was born May 23, 1941 in Guymon, Oklahoma. As the baby of an already large family of eight brothers and sisters, Dorothy arrived into the world an aunt of several nieces and nephews. Dorothy worked in several cafes around Guymon while still in High School and afterwards, when upon the faithful day she met the lover of her life, David Farrington whom she later married on November 17, 1961 in Guymon.

They moved to Elkhart, Kansas where they started a family, before returning to Guymon where she made her home for the past 44 years. Mrs. Dorothy (as her kids called her) went to work for the Guymon Public Schools cafeteria around 1970. She worked until retiring in 1993 because of health issues. She was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David on June 17, 2011; her parents, Edward and Edna Behne; two sisters: Pearl Green and Mary Brune; and two brothers: Louis and Albert Behne.

Dorothy is survived by one daughter, LaDonna and husband, Jerry Brooks of Guthrie, Oklahoma; one son, Eddie Farrington and wife, Sug of Clayton, New Mexico. Survivors also include five grandchildren; Jeremy David Brooks and wife, Lara of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jeri Dawn and husband, Matt Irby of Purcell, Oklahoma, Jodi Lynee Brooks and fiancé, Stephen Paul of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Keylee and husband, Monte Topmiller of Quemado, New Mexico, and Festus Farrington of Clayton, New Mexico; one great grandson, Brody Topmiller. Dorothy is also survived by two brothers: Bob and Jim Behne, both of Guymon and one sister, Dora Sales of Kingsland, Texas; and many numerous nieces, nephews and dear, loyal friends. Dorothy was a very loving and supportive mother and grandma. Some of the favorite memories with Dorothy are: camping with Aunt Pearl and Uncle Earl and family, her wonderful crocheted dish rags, cinnamon rolls and fudge, and her full support of her church and family.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Terry Armstrong of Mustang, Oklahoma officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The Farrington family request that memorials, in lieu of flowers, be given to the Church of the Nazarene or the Golden Age Nursing Home of Guthrie. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 27th until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will be gathering at Dorothy's home, 912 N. James in Guymon.
