Mrs. Hoover was bon in Lisbon Oct. 12, 1878, the daughter of Willoughby and Esther Merkel. Mr. and Mrs. Hoover were married in Lisbon Nov. 27, 1895.
Children surviving them are Guy Hoover of Muscatine, Mrs. Claire Achey of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Gene Carbee of Pasadena.
One brother, Charles Merkel of Cedar Rapids, and one sister, Mrs. Donna Deal of Springfield, Ill., survive Mrs. Hoover.
