MARGARETVILLE - Eldon H. Close, 68, of Jones Hollow, died October 25 in Fitts Nursing Home, Jones Hollow.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Jester Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Thursdon, pastor of the Christian Advent Church, and the Rev. Albert Larkin, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Andes Cemetery.

Mr. Close was born April 18, 1897 in the Town of Andes, son of Henny and Viola (Wickham) Close. On Feb. 24, 1921 he married Betty Van Kuren in Jones Hollow. He was a farmer and a member of the Christian Advent Church.

Surviving besides his wife are four daughters, Mrs. Ralph Titch, Bloomville; Mrs. Eugene Davis, Hobart, Mrs. Leonard Utter, Margaretville; and Mrs. Henry Weaver, Andes; two sons, Garry, of Albany; Gilbert, at home; his mother now of Oneonta; two brothers, Edwin and Walter, both of Oneonta; a sister, Mrs. Raymond Ackley, several grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
