TRENTON, Fla. - Catherine "Kay" Viola (Close) Davis, 75, of Trenton, Fla., a longtime Delaware County resident, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at North Regional Hospital, Gainsville, Fla.
Catherine was born May 15, 1923, to the late Eldon and Nettie (VanKuren) Close of Margaretville.
She was a graduate of Margaretville High School.
She married F. Eugene Davis on Feb. 14, 1942. She worked at Astrocom Electronics until retiring in 1969.
Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Charles Davis of Grand Gorge and Keath Davis of Walton; two sisters, Dorothy Truesdell of Oneonta and Betty Utter of Margaretville; a brother, Gilbert Close of Downsville; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the Advent Christian Church, Margaretville, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 1999, with the Rev. Hayden Walsh officiating.
