Mrs. Bates age 87 of Alexandria entered eternal rest Tuesday, May 31, 2005 in Alexandria.
She was a native of Grayson. She was retired from Walgreens and formerly worked as an LPN and a private sitter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Boyce. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Bill Bates and one son Garland Allen Bates.
Mrs. Bates is survived by her three sons, Otis Bates of Sharp, Louisiana, Grady Bates of Alexandria and Randy Bates of Lena, Louisiana; one brother, Billy McKeithen of Marksville, Louisiana; one sister, Joyce Carr of Port Lavaca, Texas; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be William Neal Bates, Robert Bates, James Bates, Timothy Bates, Grady Bates II, Keith Carr and Gregory Carbo.
Friends may call Thursday, June 2, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Friday, June 3, 2005 from 8:00 a.m. till the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
