Survivors include his wife, Florence Bates of Boyce; four sons, Odis Glynn Bates of Lena, Grady Bates of Alexandria, Garland and Rancy [sic Randy] Bates, both of Boyce; his mother, Ada Bates of Vicksburg, Miss.; four sisters, Gladys Miller and Hazel Powers, both of Vicksburg, Miss., Lodies Tyler of Jonesville, Gurtrude Adams of Portland, Ore.; five grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Rush, Pineville, with the Rev. W. H. Effersen officiating. Burial will be in Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. today.
