O.A. "Billy" "Mac" McKeithen a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer with twenty-two years of active duty and a proud veteran who faithfully served his country during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, died at home on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. A resident of Baton Rouge, he was 90 and a native of Grayson.

Billy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mildred Taylor McKeithen; granddaughter, Michaela M. Magee of St. Francisville; two great-grandchildren, Michael Joseph Milligan and Kelsey Anna Dougherty; and two step-sons, Rev. James Taylor and family and Robert Taylor and family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Wainwright McKeithen; son, David Michael McKeithen;
parents, Pauline Lucy McKeithen and Gabriel Elijah McKeithen; six sisters, Moise Chandler,
Edythe Walters, Florence Bates, Naomi Biggs,
Theresa Biggers and Joyce Carr;
and two brothers, Robert Steve McKeithen
and A. G. McKeithen.

Billy was a 1940 graduate of Grayson High School and attended many U.S. Navy schools during his long, distinguished career. Mac holds an Amateur Radio General Class license, W5GKV, and is a member of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Burroughs, Rev. Jim Taylor, Bob Taylor, Michael Joseph Milligan, Dickey Owen, Jerry Roszell, Leon Sykes and Burt Beadle and all members of the Baton Rouge Amateur Radio Club.

Visitation will be at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 10230 Mollylea Dr, Baton Rouge. Memorial Services conducted by the Rev. Fred Wideman and Rev. Ken Carroll. Inurnment with Military Honors in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Pineville, LA to be announced at a later date.

Memorial donations may be sent to Broadmoor United Methodist Church or your favorite charity. Rabenhorst in charge of arrangements.
