Jim was a son of Everett Felix and Geneva Alice (Seymour) Broyles. He was a brother of Felix Layman, Robert Eugene, Geraldine Alice and Doris Emiline.
He married Alberta Sparks in Spencer, Indiana on 7-17-1949. They are parents of four children.
Jim was a pilot for Lake Central Airlines. He did flight instruction in the Indianapolis area. Jim flew for Burger Chef Systems for 12 yrs, and for Swift & Co and Inland Container for 2 yrs.
After retiring in 1992, he continued as a private pilot.
He was an active member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church, a member of the Quiet Birdman, A.O.R.A, NRA and Experimental Aircraft Assn.
Was a 4-H Instructor and flew Young Eagles for many year.
Jim was a graduate of PHS
