Alberta L. Broyles, 90, of Pittsboro, Indiana, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2021. Alberta was born on May 31, 1930 in Boone County, Indiana to Oakley and Geraldine (Edrington) Sparks. After graduating from high school, she married Harold W. Broyles on July 17, 1949, a loving union that would last until his passing in 2010. Alberta was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the Pittsboro Methodist Church, enjoyed teaching Sunday School, and baked award-winning angel food cake.

In addition to her parents and husband, Alberta is preceded in death by her son, Robert L. Broyles; her sister, Mary Frye; and her brothers, Jack N. Sparks and Teddy Leon Sparks.

Alberta is survived by her children, James L. Broyles, Dean L. Broyles, and Virginia L. Winegar; her eight grandchildren, her sixteen great-grandchildren; and her four great-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home from 11 am until the time of the service at 1 pm. Following the service, Alberta will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pittsboro United Methodist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana.
