Richard Mankiller was born on March 21st, 1951 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Charley and Clara Irene (Sitton) Mankiller.

The family relocated to San Francisco when Richard was young, where he graduated from high school. Richard worked as a technician for Xerox Corporation.

He married his sweetheart, Sandra (Sandy) Kay Blackwell on June 21st, 2012 in El Reno. he adopted her two children as his own.

When he wasn't working, Richard enjoyed taking a trip to Las Vegas, discussing politics, or just spending time with his family. They were everything in the world to him. He was the proudest supporter of his grandchildren at their events. Richard believed in keeping life simple.

He was quiet and contemplative. He was loving and caring, and went the extra mile to help where he was needed.Richard passed from this life on October 7th, 2012 in Yukon with his loved ones by his side. He was 61 years old. He will be greatly missed by those close to him. Richard is preceded in death by his father; Charley, two brothers; Robert Charles in 1961, and John David Mankiller in 2006.

He is preceded by two sisters; Wilma Pearl Mankiller and Linda Jean Sanchez, one nephew; Smokey Mankiller and one niece; Laura Rackliff and brother-in=law Robert Willingham.
