Mrs Bessie E Harter,
66 of East Main street,Parish died Sunday May 15 at Upstate Medical Center Syracuse. Born in Williamstown to Henry and Grace Taylor she resided in Parish for 47 years.
She was a member of the Mexico Presbyterian church,former member of the Parish Grange,past district deputy of Oswego District Rebekah Lodge. She was the first president of the Parish Parent Teachers Association. Mrs Harter was also active in the Democrat party.
Surviving are her husband Robert J Harter,two sons,Thomas of East Syracuse and Henry of Parish,tow daughters Lillian of Syracuse and Annette of Rome. Two grandchildren Bobby and Peggy Harter of Parish. A sister Mrs Ruth Stolo and a brother William O'Neil of Taberg
Funeral services were held Wednesday,May 18 in the Mexico Presbyterian church,the Rev. Richard Cheffey officiating. Bearers were James Petrie Sr. James Roddy,DeVerne Madison,William Ward Sr. Edward Lescenski and Paul Philips.
Burial was in Pleasant Lawn Cemetery,Parish.
