Aunt Mildred was the daughter of Ernest Samuel Duty and Hattie SIMMONS Duty. She was one of their ten children who lived to adulthood and the granddaughter of James G.A. Duty and Littia Anna WHITLOCK Duty and of her maternal grandparents, Jefferson Simmons and Sarah ISAACKS Simmons.

She first married Pearl Russell and then, on January 1, 1947, she married Harry Edward Burris. He died June 30, 1969. She later married Asa Thomas Adams on January 12, 1970.

Aunt Mildred was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters, a brother, and two sisters.

Her survivors included her husband, one son, James, one daughter, Mary, two brothers, Ernest and Charles Dale Duty, and four sisters, Faye Angelini, Ann Taticek, Helen Sommers, and my mother, Audrey Arnold-Rhodes. Also, surviving her are are grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. She is loved and missed by all.
