Her grandparents were James G.A. Duty and Littia Anna WHITLOCK Duty and Jefferson Simmons and Sarah ISAACKS Simmons.
Aunt Edith, of Cape Girardeau, MO, formerly of Dupo, IL, died on a Wednesday a few days after having suffered a stroke while on holiday.
She was first married to John Luttrell, who preceded her in death. She then married Fred Fisher, who, also, preceded her in death.
She was survived by her third husband, Richard C. Haney.
She was, also, survived by three sons, Bob, Bill and Jim Luttrell and by four daughters, Vickie, Georgia, Barbara, and Shirley.
Other survivors included two brothers, Ernest and Charles Dale Duty and six sisters, Mildred Adams, Audrey Arnold-Rhodes, Opal Topper, Ann Taticek, Faye Angelini, and Helen Sommers, along with 31 grandchildren, including Alice and Edna, who were the two grandchildren she raised. My Aunt Edith was, also, survived by 32 great-grandchildren.
She is loved and missed by her family and all who knew her.
(Group picture is of my Aunt Edith and four of her six sisters. Seated on the left is my mother, Audrey, then next to her is Aunt Edith. Standing, left to right is Aunt Faye, Aunt Ann, then Aunt Helen.)
