Vincenzo "Jimmy" Verace, 74, 505 N. Main St., died at 2:04 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1981, in St. Anthony Hopsital after a long illness.
Born Sept. 8, 1906, in Italy, son of Louis and Frances Verace. Lived 60 years in Rockford, coming here from Italy. Married Josephine Gulotta in Rockford, Nov. 20, 1927.
Throughout his lifetime he was engaged in real estate, the grocery business and the restaurant business. Member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine; three sons, Charles, Vincent and Sam, all of Rockford; a daughter, Mrs. Anita Mioni, Rockford; 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, in GASPARINI & OLIVERI FUNERAL HOME, 707 Marchesano Drive, and at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Aloysius Romanowski, pastor, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
