Charles A. Verace, 67, of Rockford, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, in Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 22, 1930, in Rockford, the son of Vincenzo and Josephine (Gulatto) Verace. Lifelong Rockford resident. Married to Elizabeth Stadler in Rockford; she predeceased him.
He was a self-employed entrepreneur. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.
Survivors include four sons, Steven M. (Janice) of Elkhart, Ind., Charles J. of Chicago, Thomas J (Debra) of Arlington, Texas, and Joseph C. of Rockford; two daughters, Marybeth (Bruce) Vongrinc of Woodstock and Paula M. Verace of Chicago; grandchildren, Maria, Bridget, Philip, Anne, Mark, James, and Matthew; two brothers, Vince (Gloria) Verace and Same Verace, and sister Anita (Tony) Mioni, all of Rockford.
Also predeceased by his parents.

Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in Sr. Bridget Catholic Church, witht he Rev. Michael J.K. Fuller, associate pastor, officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Winnebago.
