Mrs. Syrina A. Treon, 99, R.R. 1, Edinburg, one of Shelby County's oldest residents died Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frances Ford in Mt. Auburn where she made her home. A member of the Mt. Auburn Christian Church. Mrs. Treon lived in this area practically all of her life. Born in Bartholomew County July 6, 1875. Mrs. Treon was the daughter of Philander and Prudence(Ensley)Jordan. She was married Oct. 18, 1894, to William Treon and he preceded in death in 1959. Survivors in addition to Mrs. Ford are five sons, Fred Treon of Edinburg, Ray Treon of Columbus, Lawrence Treon of Indianapolis and Ora Treon and Lora Treon, both of Tarpon Springs, Fla., 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Grace Beatty, Greensburg. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburg with the Rev. Matt Malott officiating. Burial will be in Mt, Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral at any time.
