Ora "Tode" Treon, 87, Franklin, died Sunday at his home. He lived most of his life in Shelbyville.

Born on Oct. 19, 1909, in Jackson Township of Shelby County, he was the son of William and Anna(Jordan)Treon. In 1933, he married Evelyn(Shutt)Treon, who preceded him in death in 1987.

Mr. Treon retired in 1971 from Altamil Corp., formerly the Chambers Corp., in Shelbyville.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors are a son, Edward Treon, Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter, Shirley Rust, Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral home with the Rev. Marty Travelstead officiating.

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
