Son of James William Breckenridge and Hanna(h) Eliza Wright Breckenridge and known as "Uncle Dick" to his nieces and nephews. He migrated with his family from Indiana in a covered wagon in the fall of 1880 to Wheatland, Hickory Co, Missouri. They spent the winter there and then moved in the spring of 1881 to the "Holland Farm" in Henry Co, Missouri.

Marion and Barbara had 3 known children: Lloyd Irvin Breckenridge, born 13 May, 1907, married Mary Stricker in 1944; Cheryl Alberta Breckenridge 18 Jan 1912 in Montana. (Married Jack Conway in Red Lodge, Carbon Co, MT in 1927. 2nd married Morton Bryan Hiatt) and Clair Dean Breckenridge born 04 May 1920 in Laurel, Montana; Married Freda M Cook 04 July 1942 in Camden, NC. DENVER, MAY 31-(AP) An explosion in an apartment building killed three occupants today, injured at least eight others and brought the roof smashing down as the walls crumpled.
The first body recovered was that of the landlady of the two story brick structure at 35 West Dakota avenue. She was Mrs. Gertrude Rowan, 60,; killed with her was her 14 (11?) year old grandson, Richard Rowan. About two hours after the blast at 1 p.m. (EST) searchers found the body of a man police said was M. C. BRECKENRIDGE, 68, whose head was crushed.

M. C. Breckenridge, 70, one of three killed in the Denver apartment house explosion Saturday was the father of Mrs. M. B. Hiatt, former resident of Boulder. Her mother, Mrs. Barbara Breckenridge, 59, suffered foot and thigh fractures in the explosion, but was reported improved at Denver General Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Hiatt are now in Denver with her mother. They stayed Sunday night in Boulder with his mother, Mrs. Amanda Hiatt, 442 Marine. They are not making their home in Bishop, Calif., moving there about one year ago after residing here for ten years while Mr. Hiatt operated a trucking business.

The two sons of Marion Clarence Breckenridge, who died of injuries in the explosion of an apartment house in Denver, May 31, are en route to Boulder to attend the funeral, date of which awaits their arrival. They are Lloyd E., a patient in the Navy Hospital, Oaknoll, Oakland, Calif., and Clair D., in the Navy service in Washington, D.C. A daughter, Mrs. Cheryl A. Hiatt of Bishop, Calif., is here.
Mr. Breckenridge was born Feb. 16, 1877, in Bellmore, Indiana. He was married to Barbara Isabell Tempke, in September 1905 at Joliet, Mont. Mrs. Breckenridge, injured in the accident that killed her husband, is making great improvement in a Denver hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Breckenridge lived in Boulder for three years prior to going to Denver. They came here from Billings, Montana. Funeral services are being arranged by Howe mortuary.
