Death of Bert Payn, 61, of 88 Borden Avenue, occurred in a Rochester hospital on Tuesday morning, December 16, at six a.m. he has been in failing health for the pat 14 years. Death was due to a heart attack.
Bert Payn, son of Walter and Eva B. Payn was born in Genesee Falls near Portageville, on Dec. 8, 1886. He moved to Perry in 1900 and had since made is home here. He was employed by the Robeson Cutlery Company for many years, one of the few professional fine cutlers in the cutlery trade. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Methodist Church of Perry.
He was united in marriage on December 27, 1905 to Miss Ivah Munn of Ellicotville, whose death occurred on December 8, 1914. On February 8, 1919 he was united in marriage to Miss Alena Gray of Warsaw, who survives with three daughters, Mrs. G. Stanley Baker (Isabell) of Castile; Mrs. T. J. Ritter (Frances) of East Hartford, Conn., and Miss Harriett Payn of Perry; also three sisters and a brother, Mrs. James Van Cise, Rochester; Miss Belle Payn of Castile; Mrs. Edward Brewer of Rochester; and Victor Payn of Castile, and two grandchildren.
Service will be held from the Eaton Funeral Home. burial in hope Cemetery.
