The funeral services for Leon Bradford Payn whose body arrived here the first of the week, were held at the Community Church in Portageville last Wed. afternoon, Rev. Carpenter officiating. He was 31 years old and died in Denver, CO, Dec. 16th where he went for the benefit of his health. He was in the training camp at Camp Dix during the World War, but his health would not permit him being sent overseas. After he returned he spent some time in the mountains in the northern part of New York and later the government sent him to Colorado. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Perry. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Payn, he is survived by 3 brothers, Bert, Victor and Harry and 4 sisters, Mrs. S.E. Halbert and Miss Belle Payn of Castile, Miss Sylvia Payn of Rochester and Mrs. S. E. Brewer of Dansville.
