Lavern was born on March 21, 1930, in Haxtun to Abe Brown and Beulah Cochran She attended Fleming elementary school
and Fleming high school, She was a housewife, worked three years at White Kitchen Bakery, sold Avon, and cleaned houses.
She married John A. Volz in Greeley on July 24, 1948. They were marned for 51 years She was a member of the VFW Lathes Auxiliary, Senior Citizens Club, and the Calvary Baptist Church She is survived by son, Sidney and wife Tawnya Volz of Greeley; grancichildren, Jason Volz of Longmont, Ahsa Strousberg of Chicago, Calah Voiz of Fort Collins, brothers, Gene Brown of Fleming, Fmnis Brown of Apache Junction, Aria , Lonnie Brown of Aztec, sisters Lavina Stout of Salt Lake City, Irma Loux of Aurora; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Sidney Volz. Memorials may be made to the Lavern Volz Memorial in care of Tennant
