Leanna Elsie Clark was the second child of Jonathan William Hadley 1865–1907 and Flora E Andrew 1869–1939 and was born on Wednesday, April 29, 1981. They lived in Newlin Twp., Alamance County, North Carolina, USA. She was one of ten siblings.

Elsie looked for a long time to find Mr. Right, and at the age of 28, she married Oliver Clark of Snow Camp, Alamance County, North Carolina. They started the year of 1920 off right by being married on January 1st. The 1920 Census stated that she was a clerk in a Jewelry store and she seemed to be just the right kind of lady for the job.

By the 1930 Census, they had been blessed with two sons... John Vernon Clark 1921-1977, and Oliver Clinton Clark 1923-1968. The 1940 Census verified that the highest grade completed was College, the 5th or subsequent year and that she lived on Snow Camp Road, Newlin, Alamance, North Carolina.

On the 28th of March, 1955, Oliver left her to be with his Lord leaving Elsie a widow ... and on the 22nd of October, 1974, Elsie was also called to her Eternal Home. They both were interred at South Fork Friends Church, Snow Camp Rt., Chatham County, North Carolina.
