Agner J. Terpstra was born October 5, 1923 to Jake and Flora (De Young) Terpstra in South Boardman, MI.
Agner served his country during World War II as a medic in the U.S. Army in the Philippines.
He was united in marriage to Nella Hunderman on November 30, 1948 in the Christian Reformed Church, Drenthe, MI. Together they moved to Rock Valley, IA where they owned and operated the Coast-to-Coast Store for 37 years until retiring in 1985 to travel.
Agner enjoyed fishing, traveling and especially spending time with family.
Agner died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Hegg Memorial HospitaL Rock Valley. He was 83 years of age.
Agner is survived by his wife Nella; daughters: Judy Groen of Daihart, TX and Norma (Joel) Kannegeiter of Mitchell, SD; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Harry Terpstra of Glenwood, MN, Jake (Carol) Terpstra of Holland, MI, Peter (Ruth) Terpstra of Zeeland, MI, Floyd (Ruth) Terpstra of Rock Valley; sisters: Ada Terpstra and Agnes Harmelink both of Sioux Center, IA; brother-in-law, Jake (Margaret) Teunissen of Rock Valley; sister-inlaw, Helen Vander Wiede of Drenthe, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: David, John and Clarence Terpstra; infant sister, Florence and sister Florence Teunissen; son-in-law, Verlyn Groen.
