Alice Gens, 94, died at Dunaway Manor Friday night. She had been a resident of the manor for eight years. Born in Riddleton, Tenn. Aug. 2, 1894, she married Herbert Rankin in 1910. They had four children. She married Herman Gens in Dalhart, Texas Oct. 25, 1923. They moved to Texhoma in 1943. He died in 1963. One daughter and one son Oletha Ireland and J.G. Rankin. preceded her in death. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Texhoma. Survivors include three daughters, Chloe Teal Woods of Amarillo, Texas, Alice Hollis of Texhoma and Elizabeth Cordray of Morrison, Mo.; one son, John Rankin of Oak Park, Ill.; two brothers, Clyde Boston of Goodwell and Charlie Boston of Guymon; 14 grandchildren; 22 great - grandchildren; two great - great - grandchildren; and two great - great - great - grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. March 20 at the United Methodist Church in Texhoma with Jim Smith of Guymon officiating. He was assisted by Jan Putnam and John Rankin. Burial was in the Texhoma Cemetery under the direction of Dawson Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Family requests memorial go to Dunaway Manor Nursing Home in Guymon or United Methodist Church in Texhoma.
