Laura Griffin, 95, of Reynolds, died at 9:07 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 at IU White Hospital of Monticello. She had been living at White Oaks Nursing Home in Monticello since August.
She was born January 15, 1918 in Francesville to the late Levi and Maggie (Brandenburg) Walters. She attended Lee Schools.
Her marriage was to Lloyd M. Griffin on November 30, 1936. He preceded her in death in September 1993.
She and her husband were longtime residents of Reynolds. She formerly attended Reynolds Christian Church.
Laura was a homemaker and loved sewing and playing BINGO.
Surviving is a daughter, Velma Speer (husband: Jerry) of Reynolds, son-in-law, Robert Barrett Sr. of Wolcott, a sister, Nellie Shide of Rensselaer.
Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 sons, 3 daughters, 6 sisters, 6 brothers and 2 grandchildren.
