Leesville - Johnny Swygert, 80, of the Ridge Road community, died Saturday at his home. Son of the late Enoch and Cornelia Adams Swygert, he was a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. He was a retired farmer and sawmill operator. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Inez Richard [Ricard] Swygert; one daughter, Mrs. Coty H. Briggs of Leesville and Georgetown; two sons, Gurney O. and B. A. Swygert, both of Leesville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie S. Smith of Gilbert; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Monday from Cedar Grove Lutheran Church. Active pallbearers will be Melvin Swygert, Wilson Swygert, Virra L. Swygert, Alton Ricard, Odell Richard [Ricard] and Mark Ricard.
