Leesville, June 15 - Funeral services for Emanuel Zedo Swygert, 75, were to be conducted today at 5 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Lutheran church and burial was to be in the church cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virta Risinger Swygert; ten children, Mrs. Etha Metts, Mrs. Leila Bell Metts and Wilton [Wilson] Swygert, all of Leesville, Jacob Swygert and Mrs. Elma Price, both of Gilbert, Nephlee Swygert of Lexington, Ezell Swygert and Mrs. Lula Rae Kyzer, both of Columbia, Mrs. Mittie Price of Mims, Fla., and Mrs. Essie Bush of Macon, Ga., (two children preceded him in death); six brothers and sisters, Mrs. Ida Derrick of Leesville, Mrs. Leila Langford of Greenville, Mrs. Minnie Smith of Gilbert, Yoder J., John Z. and George W. Swygert, all of Leesville; 31 grandchildren and a number of other relatives. He spent his entire life in this community. © The State, Columbia, SC, 15 Jun 1950
